As a theatre enthusiast, I have always had a special place in my heart for Les Misérables, and being cast as Eponine, my dream role, was a defining moment in my career. The music and storyline of this iconic musical are undeniably powerful, and to this day, it remains my favorite Broadway show that I have watched in London.
Being a part of the Les Misérables production was a surreal experience, and I was grateful to be able to showcase my talents in some of the most memorable moments of the show. The harmonies of "One Day More" were simply incredible, and singing the poignant duet "A Little Fall of Rain" was a highlight of my performance. However, it was my solo "On My Own" that truly allowed me to channel Eponine's character and convey her emotions through my voice.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the show was when I appeared as Eponine's ghost in both "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" and "Epilogue". This was a hauntingly beautiful scene, and it was an honor to be a part of it. It's moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with theatre in the first place - the ability to evoke emotions and connect with the audience through powerful storytelling and music.
What made that moment even more special was the dress that I wore. It was my late great nan's wedding dress, and it meant so much to me to be able to wear something so sentimental and full of history. I couldn't believe it when I found out it would fit me. Seeing my grandma and mum in the audience, watching me perform in that dress, was an incredibly emotional moment that I will always cherish.
Playing Eponine in Les Misérables was a dream come true, and it is a role that will always hold a special place in my heart. The experience has inspired me to continue pursuing my passion for theatre and to seek out new opportunities to challenge myself as a performer.
