Menstruation, a topic of immense significance, is often treated as taboo and seldom discussed openly. Society has conditioned women to view this aspect of their bodies as something private and to be kept hidden from public discourse. Therefore, when talented photographer Amy Miles approached me with her menstruation project, I could not resist the opportunity. The primary objective of her project was to highlight the inherent female empowerment that comes with menstruation and to showcase the beauty in our menstrual cycles.
For the shoot, we ventured out to Perranporth beach, where I was styled in a stunning black co-ord and a sheer white blouse. Additionally, I was draped in a magnificent piece of red fabric that I used in various ways to signify my flow. Throughout the shoot, I felt beautiful and confident, with no shame or inhibition. Participating in this campaign was a remarkable experience that I am proud to have been a part of.
