My experience at the Pauline Quirke Academy opened my eyes to the vast possibilities of creative expression within the entertainment industry. Under the tutelage of seasoned professionals, I was exposed to a wide range of acting techniques for both theatre and screen, as well as received training in dance, vocal performance, and stage combat.
As part of the program, we collaborated to produce a horror short film, which we filmed on location at a school, complete with professional hair, wardrobe, and makeup. Additionally, we had the opportunity to showcase our singing talents by performing Christmas carols in Plymouth City Centre during the festive season of December 2017.
Perhaps the pinnacle of my time at the academy was the opportunity to perform in public productions, such as Cats the Musical and Alice in Wonderland, in which I was cast as the lead, Alice. Months of rehearsals led up to these performances, and the sense of accomplishment and joy that came with being part of such amazing productions is something that I will always cherish.
The Pauline Quirke Academy provided me with the skills, experience, and confidence to explore the entertainment industry further. It was an enriching and enjoyable experience, one that I will always be grateful for.
