Working with Music Makers Plymouth was a truly incredible experience for me, as I had the opportunity to attend and host a variety of children's birthday parties, events, and house visits. During my time with the company, I had the privilege of portraying a diverse range of beloved characters, including Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Princess Sparkle the Unicorn Princess, Batgirl from Batman, Captain Stinky the Pirate, Rapunzel from Tangled, and Anna from Frozen 1 & 2.
This role provided me with an array of valuable skills, such as improvisation, storytelling, character building, children's entertainment, and impersonation. Above all, I relished the chance to bring magic, joy, and unforgettable memories to the children I interacted with. Each visit or party involved singing, dancing, games, storytelling, and photos, ensuring that every child had a truly unforgettable experience.
In addition to these regular events, I also had the pleasure of participating in a number of incredible voluntary opportunities during my time with Music Makers. These included yearly charity events at the Guildhall Plymouth for SEND children, the Hugs from Henry Charity Event at the China Fleet Country Club in Saltash to raise money for children's cancer, and yearly Christmas hospital visits at Derriford in Plymouth, where we were able to bring some holiday cheer to children in need by gifting them with toys and games that we had raised money to purchase. We also conducted monthly house visits, where members of the public could nominate financially struggling families or families with sick children, so that we could brighten their day with some much-needed joy and light. All of these moments were truly unforgettable, and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of them.
