The Transition Tour is a unique workshop tailored for year 6 students in primary schools across Plymouth, designed to ease their transition from primary to secondary school and prepare them for the challenges of Year 7.
The highlight of the workshop is a short play, which follows a quest to find "our new year 7, secondary school class" - a piece crafted by our team of skilled writers. It is followed by a series of engaging activities aimed at building confidence and encouraging the students to embrace this new educational chapter in their lives.
Our workshop activities also promote Drama as a subject, and introduce the students to the musicals that we put on every year. The aim is to encourage them to audition for upcoming shows at Heles School by performing song numbers from previous performances.
Participating in the Transition Tour was a great experience, as it gave me the opportunity to develop my creative scriptwriting skills, gain leadership skills, and help introduce drama and acting to the next generation. It was a fulfilling experience, knowing that we were helping the young students embrace their future with more confidence and excitement.
